Our club does a plastics checklist on our activities so where practical we reduce the amount of plastics used in our activities.
|07 Jul 19||1st Sunday of the Month Plastics||Here we go - 1st Sunday of the month the club and community meet at Corrimal surf club to go for a walk and pick up plastic and then have a coffee and some laughter. Gerri, Emma, Sue, Leanne, Kay, Pete, Rob had a heap of fun. See you next month.|
|03 Jul 19||Change over dinner||A wonderful night at the presidents' change over dinner. 70 joined us for the festivities. And how environmentally friendly were the table decorations: a potted plant and some lemons on a branch - looked great, felt great - see the feed for a picture.|
|18 Jun 19||Plastic Volunteers Meeting||Alf, Kay, Gerri, Jean and Rob [Emma unwell but is in] met to plan getting the Plastic Free Oceans message out to not only clubs in AUS, but emailing also to overseas contacts - we will keep you posted. Of course the dinner at Rob's place was very low plastic.|
|15 Jun 19||Hi Tea||Wow, a great day at our annual Hi Tea. Very well attended, lots of fun and food had by all. The final fund raising count will be near $5000. And as usual at Corrimal we were very careful that the day had minimal waste - including selling the leftovers, less waste more money :-)|
|02 Mar 19||Clean up day||We are participating in Clean Up Australia Day. Start at Blue Divers Reserve on Pioneer Rd at 4pm. Go Corrimal.|
|26 Jan 19||Australia Day BBQ||Out came the Corrimal Rotary caravan and many members to serve up hundreds of BBQ sandwiches to those enjoying the day. The caravan is provisioned to be using as least plastic as possible and as usual a good check for rubbish around the site when we packed up. See the video in our feed.|
|04 Jan 19||Twilight Markets||A great night with several stalls selling out. The band and other musicians were fantastic. Our stall holders are committing to the Wollongong council guidelines for public activities to avoid the use of single use plastics.|
